Meet Coldwater - a simple ankle sock design worked cuff down, with an easy broken rib texture pattern through the entire sock. Instructions for a short row heel are included, although you could substitute your favorite heel method. The toe is worked in 2x2 rib to match the toe, which is my favorite part!
Coldwater features our super sparkly Stardust sock base. Required yardage will vary depending on your gauge and length of leg and foot, but one 100-gram skein of yarn should be plenty no matter the size! The pattern is written for working with 9” circular needles, but could easily be converted if you prefer magic loop or DPNs.

Notes on sizing:
This pattern is written for 4 sizes, ranging from 6.25-9 in/16-23 cm finished sock foot circumference. It is recommended to choose a size that gives about 1-2 in/2.5-5 cm negative ease for a snug but comfortable fit. The sample size 2 (7 in/18 cm) is shown on an 8.5 in/21.5 cm foot. NOTE: Some testers found they were unable to get the 36-st gauge even when going down in needle size, so if you prefer or are able to get a 32-st gauge and would normally work size 2-4, you can work one size smaller to achieve a very similar fit. Let me know if you have any questions about sizing!
Pattern gauge:
4”/10 cm = 36 sts/68 rounds (relaxed) in alternating k2, p2 texture pattern
Using US size 1 (2.25mm) needles, worked in the round.
Note: All measurements are approximate and taken after blocking. Inches are rounded to the nearest 0.25 in and centimeters to the nearest 0.5 cm.
