Everyone needs a good ol' basic ribbed beanie in their life, am I right? Grab a skein of your favorite worsted weight wool and get ready for your new go-to hat during the frosty winter months! This quick and easy hat can be worn with the brim folded up for extra warmth or down for a slouchy look. It also makes a great gift if you're in need of a quick project to gift your loved ones! I hope you enjoy!

Details:

• Pattern Type: Knitting

• Level: Beginner

• Written in English and US terms for 3 sizes, toddler/child to adult

• Skills to know: How to work in the round, knit, purl, decrease

• You'll need: 1-2 100-gram skeins worsted weight yarn, US size 6 (4mm) 16" circular needles + DPNs/longer circular needles for magic loop of the same size (or size needed to attain gauge), and a removable/locking stitch marker

You’ll receive one PDF file containing:

• Complete instructions on how to knit Cedar Trails (5 total pages)

• Two different instructions for working the crown - gathered (slightly tighter fit), and flat (slightly looser fit)

• Several suggested lengths and yardage estimates for all sizes + full pattern support should you need it!

Notes on sizing:

Size 1 (to fit head circumference 18-20 in/45.5-51 cm), should fit toddler-child
Size 2 (to fit 20-22 in/51-58.5 cm), should fit child-adult woman
Size 3 (to fit 22-24 in/56-63.5 cm), should fit adult man

Pattern gauge:

4”/10 cm = 30 sts (relaxed)/18 sts (stretched)
4"/10 cm = 28 rounds

Taken in 1x1 (k1, p1) ribbing worked in the round using US size 6 (4mm) needles

All measurements are approximate and taken after blocking. Inches are rounded to the nearest 0.25 in and centimeters to the nearest 0.5 cm.

Sample made using House of A La Mode Cedar on House Worsted (100% Superwash Merino). Feel free to substitute your favorite worsted weight yarn, but always be sure to check your gauge. I cannot wait to see what colors you use!
