Hello and thank you for stopping by!

My name is Courtney, and I'm the designer and dyer behind Ivy & Autumn. Here I wanted to give a little insight about what goes into my design process for those who may be interested!

The Design + Pattern Creation Process

Currently, it’s just me, myself, and I (and my test-knitters once the testing process begins!) working on all aspects of each design, and I do my best to bring you the highest quality patterns as I possibly can — from the initial idea, to knitting the swatches and sample(s), grading sizes + calculating yardage, typing up + editing the pattern and photos, calling for test-knitters, putting together the newsletter for the release and setting up listings and discount codes in the shop, then customer support after release day, along with any future pattern updates as needed. Depending on the design, there may be color palettes to decide on and yarn to dye, which is such a fun and challenging addition to the process! You could say I’m not great at delegating tasks, and although it is very taxing and can be stressful, I do personally love having full control over the process. From beginning to end, it can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months or even a year or longer. Designing (and dyeing) is such a labor of love, and oh so sweet and worth it in the end! I hope you really get to love and enjoy each Ivy & Autumn piece you make for years to come ♡

If you have any questions about the process, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you so much for supporting my small, independent business. I’m truly grateful, and wish you all the very best. I hope you're staying safe and healthy.
